Month of May - Good news to report

Good morning from Good News of 2Base :-)

We try to give you the latest news from Alanya and Turkey.

We have been lucky in Alanya since for more than 3 weeks now there has not been any confirmed cases of Covid-19. here.

Obviously we should still be careful, but we can now see that all actions taken have worked really fine.

We used to have weekend curfews, but these are not lifted for the entire Antalya region.
In several other regions of Turkey there are still curfews.

Last weekend also elderly over 65 and youngers under 20 years of age was allowed outside for a walk and fresh air.
So looking good for them too.

Shopping malls, smaller shops, hairdressers and beauty salons started to open too. Sure there must use mask and follow strict guidelines but slowly slowly things are getting back to something that we can call normal life.

Turkey has started "Phone Diplomacy" with 70 countries to talk about how tourism from those countries can start to come Turkey.

The plan is to test test everyone upon arrival to Turkey. The exact plans are still on the drawing board, but it seems positive.
Gasipasa air port is among one of the first airports to be opened for foreign arrivals, so we are hoping to see first international arrivals in June.

Turkey is also implementing "Healthy tourism standards" which are guidelines and rules for all everyone working within tourism.

Then to news what you all has waited for.

This weekend we will have Sauna temperatures here and Saturday and Sunday there will 37 degrees :).

We are still waiting for beaches to open but hopefully they are opening end of the month of ramadan because we miss sun bathing and swimming as much as you too.

We are very proud of how Turkey has been taking care of this corona crisis and how Turkey has been helped other countries by sending them aids against Corona.

So soon we will see you again, different countries are starting flights in different time, but we are waiting you all back and bring your friends too:).
Have a wonderful May 2020 !

Hottest topic of Alanya is about your guests

Recently the most discussed topics related to real estate in Alanya is without doubt the amendments to the law about short time rental of privately owned property. This has led to several other discussions that are also relevant for owners of private properties that do not rent out their property. Mainly two questions are being discussed.... - When are people that are staying in my property to be considered as commercial rentals? and - Must I register my guests with the local authorities and how is that done?   On social media platforms a fierce discussion has been going on. So far most information available has been 3rd party information such as "according to.... ", "we were told that... ", "local authorities said that... " and so on. In this blog post we will take a slightly different approach. We will take a look at the actual laws and form an opinion based on what the laws and regulations say. Before we start please note this carefully: - This inform...

Good advice when issuing a power of attorney

Good advice when issuing a power of attorney This is usually worth considering when buying or selling real estate or when you are in need of an accountant or a lawyer. Quite often, it can be useful and time-saving to issue a power of attorney to a third party, who can then act on your behalf. The process itself is simple and fast, and alone in and around Alanya there are almost ten different notary offices to choose from. These are the most important issues to remember when issuing a power of attorney: Only issue powers of attorney to persons that you trust and that you know who they are. Make sure that the power of attorney is specific and for your exact purpose only. When selling your property via power of attorney, the exact registration and location must be specified. When selling a car, the licence plate and registration must be specified and so on. If it serves a purpose, consider making a time-limited power of attorney. Use a professional translator whom you unde...

Size of a Turkish squaremeter

This time, we will examine something that should seem quite simple: the size of a square meter. First, let's see what Wikipedia has to say on the subject: The square meter is a unit of area. It is defined as the area of a square whose sides measure exactly one meter. For those particularly interested in the subject, it is worth noting that one square meter equals 0.000001 square kilometers or 10,000 square centimeters. One question Wikipedia does not answer is the size of a Turkish square meter. Experience has taught us that one European square meter and one Turkish square meter are not equal. This is most obvious when we receive the floor plans for the units we promote. These are often quite exaggerated, and we often see 2-bedroom apartments listed as 150 square meters. However, visiting the apartment in question often reveals a different story. In other words, the 150-square-meter apartment turns out to be just 100 square meters. The main reasons for this are: - In Turkey, info...
