Happy New Year from 2Base with new Alanya video

Dear all,
In just a couple of days 2020 is coming to an end.

No matter how we look at 2020, it has been a year to remember and we all know why.

Most of us probably wish for a different 2021 with less disruption and more stability.

However, hopefully a difficult year also brought some good things along, created new opportunities and made us see things in a different perspective.

Here at 2Base we ended up with more "good" than "bad" and we can surely be happy and proud with that.

Our team proved strong, reliable and ready to take on the challenges that we faced in a professional and intelligent way.

One thing we could not change was the lack of visits from our customers.
We miss you all and hope that 2021 again will be bring back the times were you all will come to our office for a chat and a cup of coffee.

We know that you all miss Alanya very much, so we have put together a small video with all the best highlights from in and around Alanya.

Click to watch and enjoy the video and hopefully you can soon start to plan your next trip.

Happy new year from all of us at 2Base in Alanya.

Properties with garden access are getting popular!

We have made a minor but still handy update to our web site.

It is now possible to see all the properties that have direct access to a garden area.

This can either be ground floor apartments in a single level or duplex apartments where the lower floor has direct access to a garden.

So let us take a look at who can benefit from having direct access to garden.

- Families with kids -
A garden apartment gives the kids a greater space for playing and moving while the parents are still able to sit close by and keep an eye on what is going on.

- Pet owners -
With a pet in the household the easy access to a garden area makes life a whole lot easier for both the pet and the owner.

- BBQ lovers -
Throwing a BBQ party in the garden is always much better than on the balcony. And with easy access from the garden to both kitchen and toilet your guests and yourself will enjoy your homemade burgers and steaks even more.

- Garden lovers -
Some people just love flowers and grass more than others. If you are a garden lover then having access to some green space is a must.

- Those who prefer to stay close to the ground -
Not everyone is dreaming of climbing the Eiffel tower or parachute (yes, I am talking of you mum).
Some just like to stay grounded and then a garden apartment comes in quite handy.

There are a few important things to know when looking for a property with access to a garden area.

First, please note that the information in this blog does not relate to villas, but only garden apartments and garden duplex inside a building complex.

Secondly, the garden area in front of the property can as a rule not be considered as private area.
Instead it belongs to the common area of the complex.

Also there will not be any mention of the garden area in your title deed.

But in reality probably no one other than your self will access this area so in daily life the garden will feel like your own.

Garden properties are getting more and more popular so start your search by visiting our selection of properties with access to garden by clicking this link.

Alanya Summer News for July

Dear readers,

Time for another update from in and around Alanya. A lot has happened since our last blog post and we are delighted to say that things are definitely moving in a more positive direction.

Most importantly Turkey has started to open borders to other countries and from Antalya Airport.

We now have flights coming in from places like Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Czech, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Kazakhstan and Poland.

Every week a few new destinations are added so this is excellent news.

No international routes have yet opened from our local Gazipasa airport, only domestic flights are available so far.

But we are hopeful that also international flights are soon to find on the arrival board in Gazipasa Airport.

With planes in the air and open borders safety is of course critical.

So in every airport a Covid-19 test center is being operated by the Turkish Ministry of Health.

Everyone can have a test done for 15 Euro and all passengers showing signs of illness are all tested before being allowed into the country.

In case you are looking to fly to Turkey then try these airlines:

https://www.sunexpress.com/en/

https://www.turkishairlines.com/

https://www.flypgs.com/en

Generally speaking the Covid-19 situation in Turkey is quite good. However, there are still some hot spots mainly in the bigger cities.

Every day around 50.000 people are tested and around 1000 of these tests are positive.Totally Turkey has made more than 3,7 million tests.

So with common effort and attention of social distancing and hygiene we can beat this virus.

In Alanya and the areas around us we generally have very, very few positive cases and generally everyone is taking care and keeping social distancing.

So even Covid-19 is still the main topic of conversation for most people, it is not something that has a big impact on our day to day life.

Alanya has started to open hotels too. Mostly now there are Turkish tourists having their holidays. Hotels personnel has been trained how to work with Covid-19, how to offer food, how to clean rooms etc.

Read more about this here: https://www.aa.com.tr/en/economy/turkish-hotels-get-ready-for-tourism-season-amid-virus/1841915

If there is cold in hour home country, I can guarantee, it is not here:).

Now we are slowly going towards 40 degree, and humidity is hovering between 70-90 percent. So we are living inside "badly heated Sauna" as our Finnish colleges are calling it.

The current  sea temperature is almost 29 degrees in Alanya. Want to come and enjoy beach life?

For detailed information on the weather and sea temperatures take a look at this page:

https://www.mgm.gov.tr/tahmin/il-ve-ilceler.aspx?il=Antalya&ilce=Alanya

Here at 2Base we are of course monitoring the situation closely. After a period with working from home we are now back at at office on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

You are welcome to visit but we would appreciate if you could make an appointment before coming.

And with that - thank you for reading and have a great day!

Month of May - Good news to report

Good morning from Good News of 2Base :-)

We try to give you the latest news from Alanya and Turkey.

We have been lucky in Alanya since for more than 3 weeks now there has not been any confirmed cases of Covid-19. here.

Obviously we should still be careful, but we can now see that all actions taken have worked really fine.

We used to have weekend curfews, but these are not lifted for the entire Antalya region.
In several other regions of Turkey there are still curfews.

Last weekend also elderly over 65 and youngers under 20 years of age was allowed outside for a walk and fresh air.
So looking good for them too.

Shopping malls, smaller shops, hairdressers and beauty salons started to open too. Sure there must use mask and follow strict guidelines but slowly slowly things are getting back to something that we can call normal life.

Turkey has started "Phone Diplomacy" with 70 countries to talk about how tourism from those countries can start to come Turkey.

The plan is to test test everyone upon arrival to Turkey. The exact plans are still on the drawing board, but it seems positive.
Gasipasa air port is among one of the first airports to be opened for foreign arrivals, so we are hoping to see first international arrivals in June.

Turkey is also implementing "Healthy tourism standards" which are guidelines and rules for all everyone working within tourism.

Then to news what you all has waited for.

This weekend we will have Sauna temperatures here and Saturday and Sunday there will 37 degrees :).

We are still waiting for beaches to open but hopefully they are opening end of the month of ramadan because we miss sun bathing and swimming as much as you too.

We are very proud of how Turkey has been taking care of this corona crisis and how Turkey has been helped other countries by sending them aids against Corona.

So soon we will see you again, different countries are starting flights in different time, but we are waiting you all back and bring your friends too:).
Have a wonderful May 2020 !

A spring like never before

This spring time has been like never before.

Covid-19 virus has turned Alanya into a desert village, at least it sometimes feels like that.

Markets are open and you need to use mask when you go to shops.

But despite all of this Corona-thing, Mediterranean sea is more beautiful than ever, more turquoise than ever before, weather is like summer at its best, 22-25 degree now.

So how is life here now?

Most things have changed. Banks and other necessary shops opens at 12.00 and only allows a limited amount of customers at at time.

Shopping center Alanyum is closed, so are most of shops together with all restaurants, bars and cafeterias.

All playgrounds, beaches, parks and other public spaces are closed down and wrapped in "do not enter" tape.

This is very different spring to all complexes too. All pools, saunas, gyms and other shared facilities and common areas are closed.
Lets cross our fingers and hope that some of it can soon open again.

A curfew for all weekends has been implemented for everyone.
So we have to stay at home all weekend, no one is allowed to go out.
This curfew will probably continue for some time.

In the weekends people normally gather for picnics, but this is no longer possible.

For those younger than 20 years old or older than 60 of age, the curfew is 7 days a week.

The city of Alanya has done an incredible job during this situation.

While you are stay at home, city workers can bring your shopping's and medicines to your home together with food and bread.

Street animals are also not forgotten and masks are distributed for free.

Despite all this spring time is coming slowly with thousands roses and fruits.
Raw almonds are soon ready to be picked up, this is a favorite for many Turkish people who love this bitter fruit.

Nevertheless, we are all well here but of course we would like you too be here with us to enjoy this wonderful spring time in Alanya.

And please do not worry, we will look after your home here.
If you have anything in your mind or any worries do not hesitate to contact us :-)

Have a wonderful spring, where ever you will be.

We miss all of you....

Do you need help? Then please let us know...

A lot of Europeans are happy owners of a holiday home in Turkey.

When being a house owner also some obligations and practical task follow.

This might be anything from payment of utility bills, smaller repairs, keeping an eye out for your property when it is not being used just to mention a few.

Many choose to enter into a service agreement with a local estate agent or property administrator, so that they do not have to worry about or spend valuable holiday time on these practical matters.

Others do think it is a fun experience to visit the local tax office to pay their property tax, to redo silicone joints around windows or renew the household insurance all by themselves.

This last group of home owners are now potentially in a bit of trouble, since no one know when it again will be possible to travel to Turkey.

So here at 2Base Estate Agency we would like to try to help those as much as we can.

Our message is very simple: If you are stuck at home and getting a bit nervous about the fact that you cant travel to Turkey to deal with practical formalities related to your holiday home in Alanya, then you are more than welcome to contact us.

We will then to the best of our ability assist you and your holiday home and of course without any cost to you.

We are on site here in Alanya and as long as we can and the circumstances allows us, we will and can help wherever it is needed.

Remember that in the current situation asking twice is better than not asking for help at all.

Everyone with questions or worries are welcome to contact us via email, chat or on social media channels.

Please share this message to others in your network that might benefit from it.

It is in no ones interest that owners of a holiday home in Turkey run into more trouble than we all already have.

The way things are these days we must all try to help each other as much as we can.

Kind regards
2Base Estate Agency

Corona Virus: An update from 2Base in Alanya

Dear all,
As the corona virus keeps disrupting everyday life across the globe it seems that the next couple of month will be quite here at our office in Alanya.

Not that we are going anywhere, but we will surely miss the daily visits from you, our beloved customers.

Just as in other parts of Europe also Turkey is slowly moving towards a lock-down situation and it seems that traveling during spring will be impossible.

Our office is still open, but at some point we might also need to work from home and/ or restrict working hours at the office in Alanya.

But just to be absolutely clear...

- We are working hard as always and will continue to do so
- Your property will still be taken care of as always
- We are still reachable just like always via chat, mail, phone or social media

For those of you who wants to follow the situation in Turkey we can recommend the following news sites in English.

Hurryiet Daily News

Anadolu News Agency

Yeni Safak

Daily Sabah

and finally the more independent and less government controlled...

Ahval News

(Please note that in case you are actually in Turkey, Ahval news might not be possible to access due to government restrictions).

Finally we can recommend using CNN Türk for latest updates.
This site is in Turkish, but Google Translate normally does a pretty good job.

Please stay healthy and safe out there, listen and follow guidelines from local authorities and government.

By doing that we will all be able to see each other again rather sooner than later.

Best wishes
2Base Alanya
